The so outspoken nature of The Supreme Court

In a huge democracy like India with various ethnic groups, it maybe difficult to inculcate a sense of a near utopian society due to the imperfections of human beings. Having said that, a judicial institution (and that too, the highest authority) should not be numb in the face of issues of national importance such as NRC, Sabarimala or Sharia Courts etc.

However, as far as such sensitive issues are concerned, which involve a wide spectrum of people, the Supreme Court needs to be wary of not trying to meddle with the side agendas and be in constant resonance with the centre. Centre, in addition to Supreme Court, issues just the mere required guidelines for people to act upon and nobody wants to talk about the real dialogue. Such sensitive issues often find their way back to wallet in no time, primary reason being the official breach of harmony.

But in cases such as that of lynching, the SC needs to take a clear stand on what it expects out of centre. The evangelistic nature of our beloved SC, combined with the continuous vigilantism of the so called harmonious citizens has taken a sharp U turn these days with such cases making top headlines in international news. Knock knock — The Supreme Court.
