How I made an amazing fan edit for my Instagram

Today I will be talking about how I made an amazing fan edit for my Instagram using an application called Alight Motion. Alight Motion is a video editing software for your smartphone. The tool is a pro-motion graphics tool that lets you achieve professional-level animation, visual effects, motion graphics, video compositing, and video editing right on your mobile device.

The first step to making an edit will always be to choose an audio. Now it might be hard to find an audio, but that is why we have Instagram accounts and hashtags to help us find the perfect audio for our edit. Hashtags like #editaudio and #editaud will help you find an audio suitable for your edit you will be making.

The second step to making an edit will be to find some images of the person, character or object you want to edit. Make sure the pictures fit in with the audio you have chosen and the theme you want your edit to be. If you want some inspiration, look at other Instagram editors. This can help you figure out what style you are going for in your edit.

This will be the second most important step, you will want to import your images and audio into your Alight Motion app. To do this, firstly, click the + button, when you enter the app, and then choose your project name, size, resolution, frame rate and background. Normally Instagram edits use a size of 1:1, but you can use 16:9 if you want an edit that is landscape. I would keep the resolution at 720p and frame rate at 30fps. You can choose the background colour you desire. Then create your project.

Next, you want to import your audio. To do this, click the + button in the bottom right corner, click audio and find your audio. If it isn’t already displayed click view all and find your audio. Now your video should be in your timeline. Next, you want to import your images. To do this click the + button again, click images and video, and choose your images. If they aren't already displayed click view all and find your images. After doing this, move where you want your images to be in your edit, try using your edit audio to help you find where. Also, shorten or lengthen each image to make it fit in with the audio. What a lot of Instagram editors do is make an image last until the next beat, then the image will change on the beat.

After this, add transitions, motion blur and your other effects chosen to your other images. Make sure to add as much time on this as possible to get the best result. Sometimes, when viewing in the timeline, there might be lags and delays, but this isn't there when you finish exporting the edit.

Adding a watermark will make sure that every person who views your edit will know the edit is by you and not stolen. I will be talking you through how to make an easy watermark for your edit. Firstly click the +button, click Text and type in your name or username. From there change the colour to white (if you have a white background), or black (if you have a black background) When you are happy click the tick button. From there you will be taken to a similar menu to the image menu. Now, click Blending & Opacity, and change the Opacity to around 0.500. After this, mover your watermark where you want on your edit. Lastly, exit out of the menu, and drag the watermark so it is as long as the edit is.

You have now finished the hard part of making your edit, now you want to post it on Instagram, you want to export it. To do this, you want to click the square arrow button on the top right of your screen, click video and Export. If you don’t have a membership, it will ask you to remove the Alight Motion logo, but just click the button that says you are happy with the logo and continue exporting. Depending how long your edit is, it will take longer or shorter. After this, you will be taken to a menu to where you want to post it. If you just want to save the edit to your gallery, just click Save to Gallery.

Congratulations you have finished making your first fan edit. I hope this article helped you and share with your friends :)

P.S. My friend on Fiverr helped me make this article, so if you need him to make an edit for you, I will link his popular gig to help you with affordable prices.
