When Edge became Chrome

New Edge

First released 2015 with Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft recently (Jan, 2020) released a major upgrade to the Edge. Unlike the previous versions, latest edge would run on Blink and V8 engine. So in short — Edge is the new Chrome.

I have recently tried Edge for checking my websites stylings in different browsers. I was surprised to see, with a click of a single option you can import everything from bookmarks, history and even the apps which you have installed in chrome with all the data intact.

And the best part is even the developer console is same as that of chrome. So you don’t have to keep looking for different dev options eg: Toggle device toolbar — to check responsiveness

Along with Chrome like most of the features, it also comes with better privacy settings

A tab manager to manage your tabs so that you don’t have a zillion tabs opened up while researching on a topic or just while you don’t feel like closing tabs.

I have not been a fan of Edge since the very beginning, But yes I do have started using it for a while when I realized Chrome eats up a lot of resources and battery and when I came across this video

But lack of good developer options have compelled me to switch back to chrome, But with this release nothing gonna make me switch back to chrome (except if chrome start to offer VPN or something :D)
