Do You Talk Too Much?

An extremely short story to better your life.

There once was a person who wanted to be successful (you may know where this is going). They spoke of many things, many things that they would do.

They spoke poetically about it too.

They dreamt about it.

They shouted it down to the little people of the village from the highest mountain.

They told their friends, families, mentors.

They told the dragon and the sage.

They wrote it in scrolls and had a plethora of scribes translate it in every language.

Everyone believed in that person and their grand vision for the world. And then, in a flash, the person DIED! (With a lot of regret at that!)

“What happened to all the great things they said they would do?” asked the villagers. “I couldn’t wait to see it all. Shame nothing was left behind by them.”

I have an alternate ending, though:

That person quickly realized that success wasn’t going to come from talking and dreaming about it, but actually doing something. Little by little, without missing a day, this person worked super hard. They left nothing on the table, and the person still died.

The kicker?

The person in the second story didn’t die with regret. They lived life working in their passion.

I left it out, but that person saw SO much success. Why did I leave it out, though?

Because what really matters is that you don’t die with the regret of having not even tried.

You wanted to hear about how successful that second person would be, didn’t you?

Success will come, but you’ll realize that the growth you’ve amassed, the person you’ve had to become to achieve such success were indeed what you were truly living for.
