are a prayer
a union like none other
holding the process so fair

I savor a fog-laden morning
when rooftops kiss the air
and you can hear
just how the trees
breathe their care

inducing a walk with the sages
it’s as if Picasso came down
and brushed us with
an overlay of written new pages

I trust a fog-laden morning
her colors are the grays of always
and the sound of the ocean’s silt
faring skyward
blurring a path of moorings

I’m touched by a fog-filled morning
for her gentle opaque concern
is as if to say
let me cover you with a quilt
stuffed by a fluff of slivery ferns

I treasure a fog-laden morning
whose sky kisses the rooftops
and sages magnify the sounds of silt
artfully quilting softness
over a welcomed chateau of stillness
