My Top 3 for March 5th

Because variety is the spice of life.

Somedays I read more than other days. This morning I had to take my van in to get some work done on it. While I waited, I studied my Medium App. Out of the five daily selections, two caught my eye. I read a few more, selected based on my “reading history,” and those by authors I follow.

Earlier this week, I shared my Top 3 based on what I read last week. I intended to do the same this week, but three of the stories I read today were so powerful that I decided to create a Top 3 post for today. I may do another one for the week, but that will depend on what I come across.

Jun Wu breaks down the makeup of viral content and gives you advice/instructions on how to get into a habit of writing articles that build up to a viral post. Once you have a story go viral, it snowballs from there, she says (my words, not hers).

The key, says Jun Wu, is to understand what motivates your audience to share any content. People share stories on social media as an unselfish act for selfish reasons. They want to help others because it makes them feel good about themselves.

There is a wealth of knowledge about psychology and how you can use it to create content that helps your audience help theirs. I don’t want to steal her thunder by giving away too much. Read it for yourself, and see if you agree.

He shares ideas on what we, as consumers, can do to help bring an end to it. Definitely worth the time spent reading it.

David argues and gives ample examples that Sci-Fi is for everyone.

You may not be into Sci-Fi; not everyone likes every genre of literature, says David. However, he makes compelling arguments about why you should consider reading Science Fiction.

One of the reasons, he contends, is that Sci-Fi asks essential questions.

His final argument? “because soon, science fiction will become science fact.”

You can let others tell you what it means to be successful, or you can decide it for yourself.”
